China achieves complete localization of complete sets of equipment in the field of gas storage

Recently, China Petroleum's first fully domestically produced 40 megapascal high-pressure large displacement centrifugal gas injection compressor was officially landed in the Yaha gas storage facility in Tarim Oilfield. The deployment of this core equipment marks the first time that China has achieved 100% localization of complete sets of equipment in the field of gas storage, breaking the foreign technological monopoly and providing new technical support for ensuring national energy security.

Yaha Gas Storage is located in Kuche City, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang. It is the first deep and in-service condensate gas storage facility in China. During the process of building the reservoir, the injection pressure of 40 megapascals can be called the 'industry peak'. Previously, the core technology of this level was long controlled by foreign manufacturers, with high prices and long supply cycles. Zhang Yong, a second level equipment engineer at the Surface Engineering Department of the Dina Oil and Gas Management Area in Tarim Oilfield, said that the self-developed high-pressure centrifugal compressor group can process 5.5 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, with an injection pressure of up to 40 megapascals and a motor power of 23 megawatts, which can greatly improve the injection efficiency of the gas storage facility.

While promoting the construction of Yaha gas storage facility, Tarim Oilfield Company and Shenyang Blower Group Co., Ltd. have jointly tackled key technologies such as high-pressure cylinder design, high-pressure rotor dynamics and sealing technology, and efficient flow models. They have successfully developed and formed key core components and complete sets of technologies with completely independent intellectual property rights. After rigorous testing, this domestically first centrifugal compressor unit with a pressure rating of 40 megapascals for gas storage has reached the international advanced level in terms of mechanical operation and performance testing, filling the domestic gap.

It is understood that after the successful application of this 40 megapascal high-pressure centrifugal compressor, the related technology can be widely used in industries such as petroleum and petrochemical, chemical, and metallurgical, and has important promotional value.
