The construction of major oil and gas infrastructure projects in China is accelerating

date:2026-05-12

In addition to the gas storage and peak shaving projects, three projects that commenced this year, namely the Jiangsu-Anhui-Henan trunk line, Wen 23-Anqing natural gas pipeline, and the northern trunk line of Shandong pipeline network, have been fully rolled out. Currently, some units have taken the lead in completing the hundred-port grinding operation, and the construction is progressing steadily. Meanwhile, the key project of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the Sichuan-to-East Gas Pipeline 2, is also accelerating. Tunnel crossing and pipeline welding are being constructed simultaneously, with a plan to weld 1,000 kilometers throughout the year.

In Changchun, Jilin, with the final welding joint passing inspection, the special hot work connection operation for the Changchun Interconnection Compressor Station of the Hulin-Changchun Natural Gas Pipeline Project came to a successful conclusion. The completion of this hot work will enable the interconnection between the Harbin-Shenyang Line, Changchun-Jilin Line, and the Hulin-Changchun Pipeline. Currently, the main construction of 9 stations along the Hulin-Changchun Pipeline has been completed, and the overall project progress has exceeded 90%. It is expected that the entire pipeline will be completed and put into operation by the end of 2026.

The Zhundong Coal-to-Natural Gas Pipeline Trunk Line Project, the largest coal-to-natural gas production base export pipeline in China, has completed 118 kilometers of welding. The controlled project, the Tianshan Tunnel Crossing, has also entered the comprehensive tunneling stage. Upon completion, the project will be interconnected with the West-East Gas Pipeline system, enhancing China's natural gas resource supply and guarantee capability.

The welding progress of the 143.8-kilometer Lianyungang-Yizheng crude oil pipeline (Lianyungang-Huai'an section) has exceeded 99%. The construction of two stations and six valve chambers is progressing smoothly, and it is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of June this year. After the project is put into operation, it will enhance the stability and safety of crude oil resource supply in Nanjing and the areas along the Yangtze River. Currently, the National Pipe Network Group has nearly 40 key oil and gas pipelines under construction, with a total mileage exceeding 9,000 kilometers.
