Chinese-made 6-megawatt power generation vehicle unveiled for trial use

State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company recently successfully tested a 6-megawatt medium-voltage power generation vehicle for grid-connected power generation on the 10-kilovolt Ziyuan Road distribution line in Fangshan District. It is reported that this power generation vehicle is the largest-capacity integrated rapid-response gas turbine emergency power supply vehicle in China.

The medium-voltage power generation vehicle tested this time is a vehicle-mounted mobile emergency power supply that integrates a high-power gas turbine generator set, a medium-voltage switch cabinet, an intelligent control system, and flexible cables. Compared to traditional low-voltage power generation vehicles, medium-voltage power generation vehicles have a longer power supply distance and larger capacity, covering an entire area or multiple lines, significantly expanding the power supply range. This equipment is jointly developed by multiple domestic production, education, research, and application units, with core components achieved 100% localization. Its rated output power reaches 6 megawatts, featuring functions such as flexible switching, dual-voltage synchronous output, one-button quick start, millisecond-level response to load changes, and overall technology that has been appraised as internationally leading.

Chang Xiaoyu, the on-site person in charge of the power generation vehicle from State Grid Beijing Fangshan Power Supply Company, introduced: "This equipment was tested for 10 kV grid-connected power generation in Fangshan District. Through rapid deployment of live line work on the distribution network, it achieved seamless load switching and zero user perception of electricity consumption. It is of great significance for enhancing the reliability of power supply, improving the quality of residential electricity, and ensuring the safe operation of the power grid."
