The new product of CGT3 gas turbine was launched in Harbin, marking the complete self-reliance and controllability of China's small gas turbines

On the 16th, the CGT3 gas turbine independently developed by the Gas Turbine Company under the China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), a high-end manufacturing enterprise in Heilongjiang Province, was officially launched at the 2026 CSIC Gas Turbine Day, marking the complete self-reliance and controllability of small gas turbines in China.

CAE Members Yue Guangxi, Qiu Zhiming, Leng Jinsong, Zhang Jinlan, and Lin Feng, along with approximately 150 representatives from over 50 units including government agencies, key domestic users, universities, and industry associations, gathered in the ice city to jointly explore new paths for independent innovation, intelligent manufacturing, and green development in the gas turbine industry.

Gas turbines are hailed as the "crown jewel" of the equipment manufacturing industry. As a key core equipment in the energy sector, their development level directly impacts national security and industrial core competitiveness, and they serve as an important cornerstone in promoting the construction of a powerful manufacturing nation. China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) has "honed its sword for ten years" and established a complete industrial system encompassing research and development design, production and manufacturing, testing and verification, system integration, product supply, and full-life service guarantee.

The new CGT3 gas turbine product, unveiled at the event, meets comprehensive international benchmarks in terms of performance indicators. Its development has broken through a series of key technologies, including the design of high-load and high-efficiency multistage centrifugal compressors, multi-head dual-fuel low-emission nozzle design, and small-sized high-efficiency air-cooled turbine aerodynamic design. Targeting the small and medium-sized power market, this model features high efficiency, high maneuverability, multi-fuel compatibility, and clean combustion, making it widely applicable in marine power generation, island and offshore platform power generation, distributed energy, mobile power generation, and other fields. The successful launch of the CGT3 gas turbine represents not only a crucial expansion of the product portfolio of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation's gas turbine series but also another significant step in its efforts to facilitate the green transformation of energy.
