The two 50,000-cubic-meter Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) storage tanks have been successfully completed.

On May 7th, the Yan'an natural gas storage peak shaving and supporting LNG project, contracted by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Beiyou Engineering"), made significant progress - two 50000 cubic meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks successfully completed the key process of "double tank synchronous dome gas lifting". This marks the complete completion of the main structure construction of the project, officially entering the stage of inner tank installation, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent production and operation of the project.
A grand lifting ceremony was held at the project site. Wu Zhongli, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Yanchang Petroleum Refining Company, Feng Qiguo, Deputy General Manager, Huang Rujin, General Manager of Yanchang Petroleum and Natural Gas Co., Ltd., Xu Jiantao, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Beiyou Engineering Company, Li Keshe, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shaanxi Huajian, and representatives of various participating parties conducted on-site observations.
Yang Li, Deputy General Manager and Safety Director of Beiyou Engineering Company, pointed out at the ceremony that the project team fully utilized its core technological advantages and refined management capabilities, strictly controlled safety and quality, efficiently promoted the project progress, and successfully completed various milestone goals. In the face of subsequent construction tasks, we will adhere to the principle of scientific organization and safety first, strengthen full process control, and make every effort to sprint towards the construction tasks of the second and third quarters, ensuring the timely achievement of the "10-31 CCCC target" and creating high-quality projects for Yanchang Group.
It is reported that as the most challenging step in the construction of LNG storage tanks, the "pressure lifting" process is difficult and risky. The first and second storage tanks implementing gas lift this time adopt advanced bimetallic full capacity structure, with an outer tank diameter of 52 meters and a dome span of 51.8 meters. In a precise operation lasting 2 hours and 18 minutes, the dome of a single tank weighing 457.37 tons was successfully lifted 29.57 meters, achieving precise docking with the pressure ring and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent lifting of the dome of tanks 3 and 4.
As a key livelihood project in Yan'an area, this project is designed to produce 400000 tons of liquefied natural gas annually. After the completion of the project, it will effectively meet the gas demand of residents in Yan'an and surrounding areas, continuously reduce carbon emissions, and have important significance for optimizing the regional energy structure, ensuring gas safety for people's livelihoods, and promoting green development in revolutionary old areas.
In recent years, Beiyou Engineering Company has continued to make efforts in the field of low-temperature storage and transportation, and has successively built a series of LNG storage and peak shaving devices in Shaanxi, Gansu, Shandong, Inner Mongolia and other places, with a total production capacity of over 4 million tons.
