On April 16th, the construction of Liuheng LNG Export Pipeline, the first self-built subsea pipeline project of China National Pipeline Network (CNPC), was comprehensively promoted.
Project Overview
- The Liuheng LNG Export Natural Gas Pipeline Project includes one mainline and two injection branches to LNG receiving stations. It involves building one new station (Liuheng First Station), one Chunxiao valve chamber, with an annual designed capacity of 9.6 billion cubic meters.
- Both the mainline and injection branches have a diameter of 1016 mm and a design pressure of 10 MPa. The mainline starts from Liuheng First Station and ends at Chunxiao North Station of the East Section of Yongshao Mainline Gas Pipeline, with a total length of approximately 34.33 kilometers. Among them, the subsea pipeline is 19.60 kilometers long, and the onshore pipeline is 14.73 kilometers long.
- The two LNG receiving station injection branches are: Zheneng Liuheng LNG Receiving Station to Liuheng First Station injection pipeline, and Sinopec Liuheng LNG Receiving Station to Liuheng First Station injection pipeline.
Project Significance
- As an east-west horizontal main pipeline, the Yongshao Natural Gas Pipeline Project will connect with the Shanghai Branch Line of the Second West-East Gas Pipeline and the Second Eastward Sichuan Gas Transmission Line.
- The project will build a sea-land connection channel, realize complementary land and sea resources, increase regional pipeline network density and gas supply intensity, and effectively improve pipeline network reliability.
Construction Progress
- The project will annually supply 9.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the market along the route, filling the gas gap in Zhejiang Province.
- It can replace more than 16.5 million tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 5.2 million tons annually.
- It will provide important support for achieving the "dual carbon" goals in Zhejiang Province.
